Looking for some alternatives to chocolate covered eggs and little Peeps?

Springtime books offer the perfect replacement. Here are a few of my favorites for toddlers, and I’m even including a couple of these in my own children’s Easter baskets this year!

Guess How Much I love You by Sam McBratney

This is an oldie but a goodie. Little Nutbrown Hare is at his wit’s end trying to find a way to top his dad’s love. It’s sweet, easy to read and a good cuddle book. There are no pop-ups or touch and feel add-ons, it is just a good story filled with cute bunny illustrations to match the springtime feel perfectly.

Little Blue Trucks Springtime by Alice Schertle

The Little Blue Truck series is popular for a reason. This board book offers engaging illustrations, easy to read sentences, and a fun tone. It’s perfect for little tots who love to make the ‘vroom vroom’ sound with their cars and trucks!

It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny by Marilyn Sadler

Call me old fashion but I LOVE the traditional books that don’t have all the extras with peek-a-boo and feel it and distractions from the story. Not to say they don’t have their place (and I have quite a few in my child’s bookshelf) but there is also some value in teaching toddlers to hear a story without all the added distractions. It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny is cute, engaging, and a great Easter read for the little ones!
