By Any Other Name | Our Narrow Hiding Places | The Art Thief

By Any Other Name by Jodi Picoult

Jodi Picoult has long been on my list of must read authors. I always have an eye out for any of her new releases.

By Any Other Name looks to be an upcoming gem that I have on my TBR List!

Two women, centuries apart—one of whom is the real author of Shakespeare’s plays—are both forced to hide behind another name to make their voices heard.

Our Narrow Hiding Places By Kristopher Jansma

World War II Historical Fiction novels always seem to pull my heart. Such a trying and harrowing time for so many people. Spanning across Europe and Asia, there are no shortage of perspectives for the WWII genre.

Our Narrow Hiding Places is a sweeping story of survival and of the terrible cost of war—and a reminder that sometimes the traumas we inherit come along with a resilience we never imagined.

The Art Thief by Michael Finkel

When I think of the art world, I tend to think of The Goldfinch. One of my favorite novels! The Art Thief seems like it just might be a good rival to top my list of novels that bring art as a main player!

In The Art Thief, Michael Finkel brings us into Breitwieser’s strange and fascinating world. Unlike most thieves, Breitwieser never stole for money. Instead, he displayed all his treasures in a pair of secret rooms where he could admire them to his heart’s content. Possessed of a remarkable athleticism and an innate ability to circumvent practically any security system, Breitwieser managed to pull off a breathtaking number of audacious thefts. Yet these strange talents bred a growing disregard for risk and an addict’s need to score, leading Breitwieser to ignore his girlfriend’s pleas to stop—until one final act of hubris brought everything crashing down.
