Here are my top recommendations for a summer read!

  1. The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese

Abraham Verghese is a genius of an author. If you haven’t read his previous book “Cutting for Stone”, you are missing out on a gem! Covenant of Water made Oprah’s book list for a reason; it is engaging, thrilling and emotional. The novel spans three generations off the coast of India and follows the family through its celebrations and tragedies. We learn much about the Indian culture in this top notch novel by Abraham.

2. The House Keepers by Alex Hay

I wrote a small snippet for this novel on my New Releases page, but it is worth the double mention!

3. Lady Tan’s Circle of Women by Lisa See

Dive into this historical fiction inspired by a true story of 15th century China. A woman physician in China faces unimaginable struggles. A true tale of strength, survival and will.

4. The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson

Sadeqa Johnson perfectly depicts the trials and struggles of two young black women in early 1950’s America. This emotional and drama filled novel pulls into the very different way of life for two young women and their fight for equality.
